I have been honored to serve you for the past three years as your Precinct 2 Commissioner for Coryell County. I am asking for your continued support in the upcoming March 2nd Republican Primary as I seek re-election. Our county has been challenged in the past three years since I have taken office. We have been saddened by the loss of our late County Judge Riley Simpson. The commissioner’s court was tasked with appointing someone to fill his unexpired term. We did that and were fortunate to have chosen John Firth to continue Judge Simpson’s vision for the future of Coryell County. We were also faced with the flooding our county experienced in 2007 and the destruction it caused to our roadways. As a team, we worked with FEMA to restore and in many cases improve much of our infrastructure throughout the county. We are now working through the preliminary phase of constructing a new county jail. Despite the belief of many, we are in dire need of jail space. The cost of outsourcing the overflow of our county inmates is a mounting problem that has to be addressed. I look forward in working with the jail committee and the commissioner’s court in tackling this issue. As always, I am looking at ways to improve services to the taxpayers, improve our facilities and roadways, and offer the best possible benefits and compensation to our employees that work for the citizens of Coryell County. At the same time, I do my best to keep our tax rate and debt service as low as possible. Again, I thank you for your support and ask for your vote again in the Republican Primary.
